1. Fast Slow PCs
I fucking HATE how slow (fast) PCs have gotten. 15 years ago, opening a website was almost instant, nowdays it takes multiple seconds. For example opening my Youtube's subscription feed takes 4-6 seconds. And for what? Loading a couple of (images/)thumbnails? Of course nowdays they aren't *just* thumbnails, but actually short videos where if you hover your mouse over them, they start playing a small section of the video as a preview and I have to be honest: It's the biggest piece of dogshit. Who actually uses this feature? This feature has been advertised as "giving you a quick insight as to what is actually going on in the video" cuz lots of ppl have been using clickbait thumbnails and titles or have have just chosen to not write proper titles at all like "Shameless Clowns" or "This is a Complete Disaster" or "Brutal but Not Unexpected" . But the previews never show enough and don't play any sound so I still have no clue what's going on in the video, so I still have to open it and skip through it to check out whether I want to watch it or not. But even then, i have to watch 1-3 ads which go for 5-30 seconds and then Youtube still has to load the video which takes 2-15 seconds. (Yes, I know the preview videos only get downloaded/start to load once you hover over them, not when you initially open the website, but that's still useless code that makes everything slower.)

Introducing: Extensions! In order to make web browsing bearable these days, you have to use a plethora of extensions. For example: uBlock Origin to block the ads, Return Youtube Dislike to see whether a Youtube video is garbage or not, DeArrow to force normal tumbnails and fix Youtube titles (although it's VERY hit or miss (more miss than hit tbh but whatevs)), Youtube No Translation to stop Youtube from translating the titles because I will not understand jack shit of what's being said when the dude in the video speaks spanish even if the title is now in english (not to mention that the titles often times get translated to a language that I don't even speak. For example: the dude speaks spanish in the video, but the title gets translated to polish). Buster for when you inevitably get hit with Google's "are you a bot" captcha. All of those extensions are written in Javascript and are therefore slow as shit, and they only exist to revert/fix a feature that made web browsing slower with useless features that nobody asked for.
So now we have longer loading cuz of useless features with fixing useless features with slow ass extensions. Amazing.

Because of that i've decided that I want to make my website as fast as possible. Currently, my Homepage and Braindump(s) are written in plain HTML+CSS with nothing added on top, because it simply put doesn't need anything else. Yes it might not look as nice because it doesn't have any ~fancy~ graphics or anything like that, but it's fast af. I might want to add a comment section to Braindump in the future so that ppl can comment on my braindumps, but I'm not sure if I really want that. So in the meantime, if you want to discuss or talk to me about something, my contact info is on the Homepage of my website.
