Overview

[edit | edit source]
An example of a Balisong trainer. It has no sharp edge, and holes inside of it to make it hard to sharpen into a live blade, making it legal in many countries where Balisongs and Balisongs with false edges are illegal.

The Nabalis Canyon is a Stainless-Steel Balisong made by Chinese Balisong company Nabalis, released in February 2024, known for being very good for it's price. The Nabalis Canyon has 2 versions, the "Stainless-Steel Trainer" version, and the "Stainless-Steel Trainer with False Edge" version.

According to Nabalis, the Nabalis Canyon was made in Stainless-Steel, and not Aluminum, for longevity. To avoid the general rule that budget Balisongs end up degrading extremely quickly.

The Nabalis Canyon is available in 2 colours, "Acid Wash Black" & "Bead Blast Silver"

Legality

[edit | edit source]

Those who live in very strict countries & states, such as the United Kingdom, Japan and France are recommended to avoid all False Edge blades as there are many incidents online of people being charged for importing them, with the case that they can be sharped easily. Therefore, when buying any Balisong trainer from such country, citizens of such countries should buy trainers with holes in the middle, where the case of sharpening cannot be made.

Nabalis gets around these restrictions by taping the end of a wrench to the Nabalis Canyon in both it's "Stainless-Steel Trainer" version, and it's "Stainless-Steel Trainer with False Edge" version, getting around X-ray scans at customs.

No incident has yet to be reported of the Nabalis Canyon causing incident/issues with the police in strict countries.
