HRC In The Balisong List

Hi! Thanks for helping out with the wiki. I'm not sure if HRC is something that should be in the list because unfortunately HRC testing is not really something that's common in the balisong world, so because of that, the HRC column will be mostly empty. Except of course if you have a proper HRC tester and are willing to reliably provide those measurements yourself. DexyStorm (talk) 06:26, 17 August 2026 (UTC)

A manufacturer puts out the steel of the blade in their specification sheet for the Balisong. All you have to do is search up that steel's HRC. People much smarter int he subject than you or I have already tested dozens of blade steels' hardness ratings. It is not something you have to test at home, all the information is out there. just because a steel can be hardened to a specific HRC, doesn't mean that that steel automatically has that HRC. check this out: https://steelhardnesslab.com/?search=magnacut&tab=database magnacut for example goes from 64.8 to 58.4. different manifactureres put in different amounts of effort in their heat-treats and sometimes the same manifacturer will heat treat a specific knife well and another one pretty bad. example: Hinderer Jurassic is 62.7 while Hinderer Projext X is 60.3. so because neither of us has the necessary tools to measure HRC on a specific bali, i don't see why this column should exist

as for "The same way the information on the dimensions of a specific type of bolt is freely out there": yes, but not really. some manifactureres love to use custom sized sex bolts and/or screws. for example the nabalis crescent uses thinner sex bolts than most other balisongs iirc DexyStorm (talk) 05:25, 18 August 2026 (UTC)

By this I mean the image is in the public domain. If I was the type of person to not care about the public license aspect, I would have used a random picture online of the Nabalis Canyon in my entry for it's base. I did not do this because there is no image of the Nabalis Canyon in the public domain.

My Nabalis Canyon arrives in 1-2 days so I will upload it myself.
